Screen brightens with certain effects

I use Camtwist Ver. 2.2 since it accepts all my custom effects, where ver. 2.4 doesn't. The issue I have is one that just popped up last night. When I try to use certain effects like 'Noise Reduction' or 'Zoom' the preview screen of my captured image brightens no matter what the setting for these effects are. Unchecking these effects returns the preview screen to normal brightness level. I've uninstalled ver. 2.2 and reinstalled and the issue is still there. I've used ver. 2.2 for almost a year before this issue appeared last night. Any suggestions?

Its a 2.2 bug. What doesn't 2.4 work with?

It works with all but one of my custom effects which is a stacking image stacking effect.

Forgot to mention that v2.3 reacts just like v2.2.
