Multitouch Effects?

Postby Lee » Fri Nov 20, 2009 11:07 pm

I have the new Apple touch sensitive Magic Mouse and I have the new Kineme MultitouchPatch plugin for Quartz Composer. They work great together. What would be even greater though, is for multitouch enabled quartz compositions/effects in CamTwist to be able to recognize touch data input (other than clicking and dragging) from the Magic Mouse.

To clarify; when focused in a composition viewer window in Quartz Composer, the touch sensitive Magic Mouse can simultaneously initiate image input, define image position and dictate image movement for up to five individual points in a selected multitouch enabled composition. Would it be possible to somehow enable this functionality (beyond clicking and dragging, which currently works just fine) in the composition when it is in CamTwist as an effect?

I need a more concrete example. In CamTwist, you have the settings panel. What settings do you want to be able to change with multi touch?

hmmm. Well, settings in CamTwist currently honors and presents published input ports from quartz compositions formatted as image filter effects. The input data that I proposed accessing is multitouch data which is other than published port data. But you know, it turns out that the Magic Mouse multitouch input is indeed already working just fine in CamTwist! Odd that. I had tried for hours with a different composition to no avail. pfffft. Silly me. Well COOOOOL!!!!!!

So anyway, looks like you can ignore the request. I might just make a post over at Facebook about this great capability (later, gotta leave for a while right now). Steve ... this is just really slick! I suspect that CamTwist users would like this a lot if they took the trouble to access it.
