Movie Playlist and Auto play

Postby InterLingo » Tue Sep 27, 2011 10:40 pm

I have auto play de-selected in the Options drop down menu, but when i double click on a new movie to select it as the current movie, it starts playing. Is there a way to cue up the next movie in the play list without starting to play it?

That's an interesting observation. I can't think of any good reason not to change it to work as you'd like. Email me and I'll send it to you.

Thanks, works great now!

This is a related item that isn't a bug. Maybe someone can suggest a better way to do this... I need to switch images in the background with chroma key turned on. I'm using the Slide Show so that I can organize all of the images in the proper sequence and don't need to fool around with dragging individual images into the image overlay. Slide Show wants to auto-play the images. Then if I switch to another saved setup and back again, it again starts to auto-play the images with the first image in the list. I set the delay time to 999 secs to give enough time to click on the pause button. An auto-play option might be nice on the slide show as well, or the same features as in the Movie with the loop, no-loop, etc buttons. It looks like when I save the save the setup it doesn't save the image where I left off. Should I be using Studio view for this?

How many images do you have? Maybe you can create 1 setup per image.

I have about 25 images that I would like to show on the green screen in the background. I've been playing around a bit more with Studio, and that's what I was missing.

I can either use the Image Overlay element and stack 25 boxes with my PIP Webcam as the top box. The easier option is Slide Show with PIP Webcam together in one box, and then just click through the Slide Show images. I have to remember to click on pause in the Slide Show so that the image only changes when I click them explicitly. I suppose this was the gist of my previous post was to allow the option to turn on/off Auto Play on the Slide Show just as it is in the Movie video source.

The nice thing with the Image Overlay element, though, it has scaling, positioning, etc, whereas the Slide Show is pretty much just a slide show as advertised. I have to make sure the resolution of the images matches my selected camera, otherwise there will be borders around the image.

It's more of a learning / work flow issue on my part than anything else.

Now that I think of it, I'll bet you can use the movie source to play images as well. I'm away from my CT machine or I'd test that but I seem to recall that that works.

Yep, the Movie source works perfectly. Now I can mix images and movies all together and play them in an ordered sequence and no need to click pause.
