Television Graphics Generators?

Postby adamfenn28 » Thu Jan 12, 2012 10:29 am

Has anyone got any experience with television graphic overlays? I might have the opportunity to generate some graphics for some sports programming on television. I'm not sure what types of systems protocols and inputs the television setup might require. I can easily see how I can generate my graphics with compositions inside CT and spit out an HDMI interface with just my graphics, but I'm not sure if that's something that's usable for them, or if I would need to come up with something completely different.

Can anyone give me some tips here?

I do. There are a ton of standards and uses, but the basics are:
1 - They will want a fill channel and a key channel
2 - Most sports use Chyron, but not all
3 - Generally they will want an HD-SDI output from your system for both fill and key, but not always
4 - Many systems will want multiple channels of graphics.

That help at all?

Thanks,
